Anyone try Sachs-Boge shocks from ********?

I'm thinking of replacing my front shocks on my w123. Anyone try this brand? Can anyone compare them to Beilstiens?

I've used Boge shocks and struts on my Volvo. They are very good quality. They are the OEM supplier for Volvo, and for some MB applications.

You may want to try this link as a parts source:

http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/quote.jsp?clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&cookieid=1LQ19OZGC1NO0ZSRBS&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&partner=mercedesshop&year=1983&product=L4000-35229&application=000227204

It's MercedesShop (aka the sponsor/owner of this excellent forum). How do their prices stack up to ********? What's this forum worth to you?

Support the folks who support your community.

Just my 2 cents -- arguably worth that.

I have the Boge struts on my BMW 733. They replaced the KONI's, which wore out and rode stiff, at lower speeds. The ride improvement was great as it is softer and makes the ride very supple, as good as my old Buick! They are not as good as KONI's, for 100mph back road drives, where the KONI's, are into their own. But, I don't drive that fast anymore, well I'm not supposed to...

I recommend them as a fine shock. I bought them at Bekkers Import Parts, and should be fine for your car. They are holding up OK. The BMW weighs about 3700 lbs. Hope this helps you.

Boge shocks are OEM on Mercedes as well. I have asked a couple of Germans this question and both said Boge and Bilstein are considered equals in Germany - a status that has eluded Boge in the U.S.
