What are these for?
I pulled the passenger door int panel off to loctite the nuts that hold on the wood trim and had these fall out. Along with one of the trim nuts. They don't appear broken and I can't figure out where they go.
When I pulled the panel on my TE I didn't see these. Is that because some tech threw them out when he pulled the panel off before me?

clip id
The specific purpose for which they were used inside the door panel, I don't know, however, I've seen this style of clip. That is an intact clip, but there is a mating part with teeth pointed in the opposite direction. The upper smooth piece lifts slightly so that the other half can slide inside. They disassemble without breaking by pushing the upper smooth open. Generally, they are used in applications where that "element" being held might be of varying diameters/shapes. Do you have any wire harnesses inside your door?

Nothing out of the ordinary that I know of. The car is an example of stock. The vapor barriers look untouched, and I'm going to leave them that way. If they just fell out of the door as I was getting the panel off they couldn't have been doing much good. If they were critical I guess somebody here would know. Perhaps I'll just put the panel back on and listen for rattles.
