Glow plug light stay on????????

I have a question I was hoping someone could help me with.

I have a 2.5 Litre diesel and this morning after staring the engine the glow plug light come on again after starting the engine and only went out after a good two minutes.

The car starts normally, the glow plug light comes on as usual then goes out and then comes on again.

Anybody have any idea?

Thanks Jim.

Just one more question. Do I need to take the car to a garage to get it/them replaced or is it a relatively easy job and you can do it yourself?

Check the plugs first, but I suspect that you need a new relay.

Well, that depends on your diagnostic and mechanical abilities. You can test them with a multimeter, and replacement is fairly straight forward basic mechanic-type work.

It will depend on you.

Try using the Search function above to find previous threads on Glow Plugs and resistance and the like. If you are still puzzled, let us know and someone will help you further.
