I have a 1998 C280 and the cruise does not work. I cannot find a fuse. any suggestions on the most common problems.

Mine works fine but I will throw a guess out there. I would consider the safety features that would disable it, such as the brake pedal. I don't know if it looks at the brake switch or a brake pressure switch. There is no cruise actuator so that can't be the problem. Other than that it could be the lever/switch itself but I think that is unlikely.
Just my .02. Mike

You don't want to hear this, but the most common cause is probably the engine wiring harness.

I think it does have a cruise actuator because I can buy one!

My C230 doesn't. I assumed that they both use the same throttle control system even though different engines.

Does the brake switch work.
On most cruise control systems, the brake switch is the safety back-up. After all, that's what disengages your cruise control.
