350sdl bent rod

Hi, does anybody know if 350sdl engine can be replaced with 300d from 87 car, or how much would cost to repair bent rod on 350 sdl 91 engine.
Thank you.

this sounds familiar

didnt you post a couple days ago?

a 3.0 liter six would be ideal as a substitute for the 3.5. they almost never bend rods. the heads and such are all interchangalbe.

if mine ever bends a rod a 3.0 block will be sliding under my fresh head.

350sdl

Yes, I know it would be good solution to replace 350d engine with 300d,
but I need to find out if it fits right in there. I would not like to buy bad 350sdl
and find out the engine does not fit in there,
I hoped somebody has actually done it before and knows for sure.
Thank you for your reply,

I know there is one running around here somewhere....

The ideal would be a mint 250sdl and put a 300sdl crankshaft into the engine. This will give you about 3.2 liters.

Lots of work though... I do not know what the fit is of the 3 liter into the SDL is.

The 350 and the 300 diesel engines are almost identical except for the pricetag. A reman 350 engine goes for $15K. Interchange should not produce any real hassles. The glow plug harness and sensors may need to be interchanged. Also check to make sure that the coolant pipes don't need to be exhanged. If you do decide to install a 300 may I call dibs on your bent rod 350 core? I've been looking for a 350 crankshaft for a twin turbo M103 project.
