I was looking around for cars and I saw a similar S-Class to mine. I noticed it had a black grille. It looked like it was the original one that has been painted and that he had european corner lights. It looked really attracting to me. How much do you think it would cost to get my grille painted Black or do I buy it black? How much are the european clear corners and is it hard to install? Is it a at home instalation or a easy shop install. Your help is appreciated. I have a 1998 S500.

They have all kinds of grilles and the clear corner lights.

Both the grill and the corner lights are very easy to install.

yea I have a subscription to the magazine. It seems you have a 98 S500 too. Look at the plastic covering they have over the headlights. You should check them out, my nephew has them on his car and he ordered them for mine and his dad.
Would it be cheaper just to get my original grille painted?

If you want to keep the chrome mouldings I guess it would be cheaper to paint the grill black.

Although, if you want a full black grill without the chromed mouldings, then I guess a new one would be a better alternative.

Here's a pic of my '94 E320 with a PAD grill (w/ MB emblem) and a painted chrome surround. If I remember correctly, there's three coats of black and two clear coats to finish it.

Of course, since the paint is 'softer' than a factory baked finish, it did pit easier. But it looked ok. Certainly was different.
