Already know the car has some rust on floor boards and leaking gas tank? The interior is great. Body good. What other spots should i be inspecting before purchase??? All comments welcome.

Luckily, my car is rust free! I hear the fenders, especially around the head lights are weak. As with any car, look around the battery. My windshiled wipers are all losey goosey, don't know if this is common or not, but mine have it! Some of these old cars have trouble around the hood hinges, I'm not sure if it applies to this model.

I am confused by you other post about a leaky gas tank. Have you bought this car? Post pix if possible and welcome to the club!

Yes, It is a leap of faith! I was lucky in my first outing in mine - LA to Atlanta! I suggest making sure you have a AAA membership and or when you go out, just use a tow dolly to bring it back, it is much safer and prabably not too much money to rent from U-haul.

Best of Luck ot you!

Or have the owner deliver it. If it burns up or breaks down, you don't have to worry!

Deezel,
I just found out today she told me it has 2 flat tires from sitting. This on top of knowing the gas tank leaks (im sure from rust because the floor boards are) im a little worried about buying this rust bucket. The body looks great, but it is fron Chicago, the windy(rusty) city.

You may want to keep looking. Rust free bodies are out there and I bet you can get help from forum members to look at cars not in your area before you venture out to buy it. Take your time, the search is half the fun!
