Valve cover stuck. It won't come off!

I've been trying to get the valve cover off of my 1992 190E 2.3. I've removed all five of the nuts that hold it on but no matter how hard I pull it won't budge. It's really hard to get a grip on it since there really aren't any places to grab on to. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Valve Cover

Are you absolutely, positively sure you've got all the bolts?

Teeny, tiny little taps with a RUBBER mallet , all around should do the trick.

(ridiculously small impact taps JUST IN CASE THERE IS STILL A BOLT unseen
and seated)

I've looked all over and I only see the 5 nuts that hold it on. No matter how hard I hit it with a mallet it's rock solid. The only thing I can think of that may be holding it on are the 2 rubber mounts on the top that the air cleaner attaches to. Do these 2 mounts somehow attach the cover to the cylinder head? If so, I don't know how to get them off. Does anyone know if this may be what the problem is?

yep, take those two rubber hoses off and replace them if you can not squeeze them. hit valve cover all over. small hits.

mine was the same way.....small screw driver under front corner, tap with hammer to break the seal and it will come off. It is only held on with the 5 nuts on the studs.

I've seen it done by prying it off, but small taps with a rubber mallet should do fine.
