I've discovered the 190E has an alarm sytem and apparently a remote door unlock. The brain is in the underdash of the driver with several connections unplugged. Aside from experimenting with the plug ins, has anyone got advice on how to approach this? Will I be able to obtain a controlller from an alarm shop without them revamping the system? Thanks...

tryingstar,

Alarm units that are disabled are usually disabled out of a reason. It is very well possible that the alarm malfunctioned (since 75% of all alarm systems tend to malfunction, especially at night).
I don't know how standard alarm systems in the US were, but the ones in the Netherlands are all after market and are disasters!!! We remove more alarm systems than we build in.

greetingz,

I was thinking it was disabled because the second owner did not have the remote. Anyways, guess I'll just plug it back up and see what happens, my only concern is I may overload some circuits andcause some blown fuses and accompanying equipment failures. If it holds up I'll take it to an alrm shop exposed to see if they can retro a remote for me!!

I can't really figure myself what is left to plug in as the plug ins don't match the available pins. Does anyone else have this UNGO 2100 system which is located (on my 190) behind the driver kneeboard? This panel is removed with three screws behinf the small plastic pieces which simply pull off.
