Workshop Manual/CD 89'560sl

Help please! bought service manual CD thru e-bay...regretably,useless and waste of money. Can anyone recommend (through experience) a good "how to" manual /or CD for this model. Looking to do a brake and maybe rotor R&R and perhaps other jobs as they come up and would like a reference. Surely, there must be something to be had?

Just opened MY R 107 CD & all of that info looks to be correct!

What is the problem with your copy?

M.B.DOC. The CD is for a multitude of MB models. The problem is that it is not entirely specific to my 560sl and shows diagrams etc of models not required.

embe:

You would probably be wise to get a real factory CD ROM manual for your 107 from this authorized MB source:

Last time I looked the cost was only $20 and they are the genuine article, no bootleg copies.

That said, don't be surprised if the MB-sourced CD also shows several models' worth of data. My copy is Ebay, but as far as I can tell has the correct content; it does cover the entire run, and has data for all the AC systems, all the engines, etc., so one does have to weed out the material that doesn't apply.

For specific jobs, **************.com does have detailed instructions for some of the most common tasks, as well as parts kits for same.

Very pricey, but hey, what's 3 hours of the dealers time? First job you do yourself, using the manual, you've broken even. The next job is free.... The only EBay downside thing is living in Canada and paying outrageous shipping, exchange (not bad right now) and that G&*^%$m GST/HST eh?

The mfg workshop manuals are not enough. I have a 5 book set for my 300TE. These are the real deal...and I paid for it. I have found info on the lousy 2 cd set that are NOT in my actual books!!! Between WIS and that 2 cd set...just about everything in my books has been scanned and is on these programs. It is nice to have the books...easy to flip around pages and stuff, but I have yet to find anything that was not already on the software.

One thing I do really like...one of my books is electrical...and it has a very nice section where you look up the junction, module, device, or whatever...and it will reference you to a picture of the actual item, and where it is located on your car. Gotta like that.
