C230 power seats/windows don't work sometimes

I have a 1998 C230 with about 80k miles on it. Sometimes the power seats and windows will not work. Sometimes I get in the car and start it and they won't work until maybe a minute or two. What could be causing this. It sounds like a circuit breaker tripping and then resetting itself. This happens in an old Audi I have. Is this indicative of a problem that can be rectified some how?

My windows do it, and I posted before. No answer. Would love to know.

As for the seats, there is a relay fix that has been posted. Do a search. Let me know if you can't find it.

As for the windows, there is a known problem with them stopping halfway and mine have done this a couple of times on the passenger side. I have never heard of seats and windows both being inoperative at the same time though. Sorry not much help.

I searched for seat and relay and got six pages with no fix. I appreciate it if you could provide the link to the thread that has the fix.

Basic search on this site uses an "and" function, which means that if you put more than one word it looks for hits with all the words. So I searched for "C230 seat relay" and came up with this thread: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/132934-98-c280-power-seat-problems.html?highlight=c230+seat+relay

I thought there was another thread I posted about it but I can't find it. Long story short you remove the carpet piece from the trunk and there is a relay up toward the rear passenger seat. Just this one relay sitting there. That is the one. You need to either replace it or pry the cover off of it and resolder the pins on the circuit board. If you look at the solder joints with a magnifier you will see circular cracks since it is a single sided board and that is what tends to happen with those. These are the kind of boards you find in throw-away consumer electronincs, and Mercedes.
