Hi, I was hoping that someone would be able to help me.
I own a 86 190 2.3 16v and am having problems with my clutch, It won't return. I realized that the fluid was low
so I filled it but I think that the system needs to be bled. I don't know where to bleed it. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

You will find a bleed screw on the slave cylinder mounted on the bell housing.

Clutches can sometimes be difficult to properly bleed because of the bends in the tubes and hoses and the volume, or lack thereof.

To begin with determine why it lost fluid. Most likely one of the cylinders is leaking. You need to determine which cylinder is leaking and rebuild or replace the cylinder. Also don't overlook the soft hoses which will sometimes fail.

Once the leak is repaired, you can usually bleed them with a helper operating the clutch pedal. If this doesn't work, put up a new post and we can offer some other procedures. I have done a few off the wall things in the past to get a clutch system bled.

Recently did mine. The slave cyl was leaking. Replaced
both the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder.
Note: You will need 7mm for bleed screw, 12mm crowsfoot
flare nut wrench,12 mm flare nut wrench, 13mm flex socket and or 13mm s-shaped obstruction wrench and long extension(s), if doing both cylinders.

With one cylinder out, I figured the other one might not
be far behind. So I replaced both.

It is probably time for a new clutch master or slave cylinder. My Buddy's 85 2.3 16 needed a new slave last year. It seems as father time works on the hydraulic clutch system as the car had less than 60k when the slave clyinder failed. It leaked out fliud under the car one night and the car could not be driven the next morning.

If you will thoroughly flush your brake and clutch fluid annually, you will most likely never experience master OR slave cylinder problems.
