Hi Folks,
1995 S420: When I wash my windshield, there is very little pressure that shoots the fluid out of the nipples. There are three sets of jets in my car; the rightmost set simply shoots off slowly up to the lower part of the windshield, and the middle and leftmost set only have a "trickle". I filled up the washer reservoir full and it is still not working properly. I "poked" the openings of the nipples with a small gauge wire to make sure they were all clean but that did not help. Do I have a pump problem? Thanks for any input.

same here on my 92 400e, thinking about buying new jets as they may be clogged-up or corroded. funny thing, it only acts like this sometimes, it seems like the jets take turns not spraying right.
lemme know what you discover...peter

people,
disconnect the hoses at the back of the nozzles (jets) and clean them by blowing (high pressured) air through them. In 75% of the nozzle problems this will help (especially at cars that get polished a lot...) greetingz,

Sometimes when you mix different brands of WW fluid together or add very hard water, the different additives may react or precipate out into solids that tend to gum up the works. You may have to clean out the bottom of your tank as well as all the hoses that feed the nozzles. Have you tried unplugging the hoses from near the pump and activating it to see if you have good pressure directly from the pump? Can you blow air through the lines? I'd suggest you start at one end of the system and work all the way though it, cleaning and testing it as you go.

There are little one way valves in the washer system to prevent all of the fluid draining back to the resevoir. I am not sure where they are on your car, perhaps up near the nozzles. At any rate, I had on that was clogged, replaced it an all was well.

Same problem on my '93 400E. Sounds like a common theme is that the RIGHT side nozzles appear to be more susceptible to petering out? Wonder why?

I just had this problem with my 99 E300D. The car is almost out of warrenty so I took full advantage of the warrenty. The dealer replaced the nozzel assembly and everything is back to normal. The dealer told me it does not take much gunk to make the nozzle not shoot correctly. Next time I will try an air hose as the car will be out of warrenty. Ya'll have a good day and thanks for all of your advice.
