Good to hear that you got it back in order. Sounds like that was an electrical short waiting to happen.
Strange that they bypassed the light- why not simply remove the bulb? |

Yeah or maybe even fix the problem. Just like the S320 I looked at. me "why is the CE light on? I asked if their were any lights on over the phone" seller "oh its just because of the dead battery"
BS lieing sob it was a blown MAF.

Yes, the check engine light does come on. Although I know why this is, because of excess oil burn up in the engine. I am planning to fix this problem in the summer. The reason this person simply did not remove the bulb would be that if he did so, the CE light would not come on at start-up. Because untill I found this out....I happily believed that the CE engine light was operational. I suspect this was done at the dealership or by someone who had superior know-how of the electrical system.
