HELP! I overfilled the coolant reservoire

Guys, my '93 320CE came with a german car manual and i can't read german. One of the pictures led me to believe that i'm supposed to fill the reservoire with coolant all the way to the top, higher than the hose outlet...

I've been driving it like this for months...

Recently some guys told me it's way over filled.. and that hose is for air, not coolant! .. okay, so today i sucked out the extra coolant to just below the hose (which is also inline with a marking on the reservoire that i think means 'max').

SO, did i mess up the cooling system? what will happen now... help!

Unless something is way different about your 320CE, you should have no problem. Excess coolant would simply run out the overflow.

is that what that hose is for... over flow? so it's not meant for air flow.. okay, good.. i hope you're right.

my car is the same as the 300CE-24...but for some reason has a 320CE badge instead.. must be a german or possibly swiss thing. It was originally purchased from a swiss dealership.
