Help Clearing EA/CC/ISC Codes E420 (124)

Can anybody point me towards instructions/ trouble shooting to clear these codes from my EA/CC/ISC unit? I just replaced the ETA unit (with 190,000 miles, my car had a fluctuating, then finally failing cruise control, intermittent idle surge, then intermittent idle stumbling, then poor off idle acceleration only when hot.) It read codes from several modules, including:

EA/CC/ISC
Code 80
Code 160
Code 182

I also replaced the brake switch. The last code indicates a bad ETA according to the MB WIS system. I was able to clear all the codes from the other modules, but these three won't clear from the EA/CC/ISC using my Trisco Palm scanner. Any experience or tips to share?

By the way, the wiring harnesses were replaced a few years ago.

See my sig for the car description.
Thank you in advance

Thank you for the reply. Believe it or not, I resorted to using the homemade DTC code reader described by Jim F and Arthur Dalton, etc., and that WAS able to reset the codes that the fancy pants Trisco Palm Scanner could not. I will probably check with Trisco to see whether there is a bug in the version of their scanner that I have. The car seems to be running well now, but then again, it has been COLD in central Indiana, so not sure what will happen when the engine gets hot again.

Bob
