This is the w126 body style right? It should be right in the middle of the main consol above the climate controls. It is a big red switch with a triangle symbol on it. It is kind of a toggle switch. That threw me too when I first bought my car.

Flasher

Thanks 420SEL but, I am not looking for the controls, I am looking for the controller, the relay, the clicker, the flasher, the thingy that makes the lights blink.

Thanks

I do not know where the relay for the 126 will be, but I guess that you will find it under the (screwed) lid of the fuse box...
Switch on the blinkers and lay your ear on the fuse box...

greetingz,

Flasher

Thanks for the reply but, unfortunately there is one small problem. The turn signals nor the emergency flasher work so there is nothing to listen for. I know that in my '80 300D the flasher is in the center console and I was wondering if that is where it is in the '82. Just wanted to know if anyone knew for sure before I tore into it.
Thanks

If my memory is correct, it is behind the intrument cluster (for the '82 300SD, 300D is different). The early 300D (1981? or older) has the relay (for emergency and turn signal) as part of the hazard warning switch. Many time, someone touches the hazard warning switch and the switch is not pushed back all the way to its orginal position causing the turn signal not working. I saw one case that the owner turned on the emergency lights for long time and burned the hazard warning switch causing the turn signal not working. Did anyone play with your switch lately?

David
