1997 E420 Headlight and coolant
Two questions:
Getting a coolant low indicator on my dash. 1. I went to fill the collent but could not find a fill line. Does it stop at the black cap line on the resivour? 2. The right hand main light went out on me. Are these easy to replace. I think it may be a xenon light. As always , advice is appreciated. |
Al, Many times the coolant reservoir sensor ISN'T the problem. That sensor is in series with the w/s washer level sensor. Many times that sensor is the problem. YOU need an OHM meter to diagnose.
The XENON bulbs are about 15 times the cost of a standard H7 ON your option list you will see code 612 if the car has Xenon lights! |
Thanks for responding
Thanks for responding, the coolant does look pretty low (quite down there in the resivour) but I am not sure what to fill it to. Any idea of where the indicator line is?

I was slowly losing coolant in the expansion tank in my 2000 E430, causing the idiot light to illuminate.
The problem was a bad cap on the expansion tank. |
