88 300E broken chain/ craked block
 
Hi!
I am working on this for a friend,when the chain broke it jammed into the tensioner and craked the block at the pin,has anyone seen this ,is there a fix or does he need a new engine.

I think a new engine from a wrecked car might be your best bet but shoping around can't hurt.

A broken chain on an M103 engine is an anomoly. What are the particulars on the car. Miles? Service info? overheating? Loss of oil? We'd all like to know.
