2000 S500 Where is the fuse for the driver door controls at??
 

Hi, all my drivers door controls have seem to went out. I suspect it's a fuse but where should I check the fuse at? Is it located in the engine area or somewhere in the car?

it is likely that the door control module has failed, did the door get wet inside?

OH MY GOD!! I just got my Windows Tinted and it happened immediately after!
 

Heeey what should I do now?? I just got my windows tinted and now nothing on my drivers door seems to work! What should I do now? Am I supposed to sue the tinting place? How can I prove it was them? Should I have it fixed first??

Maybe they decided to pull the door panels to do the job and didn't get the control module plugs reconnected?

I seriously doubt they took 2 hours to take the door panel off but regardless the windows did roll down once or twice before I heard a clicking noise then the windows rolled up and everything on that door went bad!! ALSO, you're not going to believe this but the ABS light went on shortly after and now I can't even get my car out of Park! There was also a stability control error!!

I guess at this point, if you look in the owners manual, it tells you how to get the shifter out of park in an emergency, hopefully the trans will shift OK. I'd want to get it to a dealer for diagnosis, tell them the circumstances and see if they can nail down the cause for you and go after the tinting shop if they were at fault.

Ok I figured something out..
 

When I apply pressure on the brakes my brake lights aren't coming on. I replaced the stop lamp switch and I'm still getting the same result. This is probably why car is stuck in park because nothing telling the ecu that the brakes are being applied.

What's up Gilly? I think Johnny916 should check the fuses in the L/F fuse box carefully!!! Fuse #16 is for the stop-lamp switch. Numbers 14, 15, 17, and 19 aren't used. Fuse 18 is only used if the car has a phone. I'm thinking that when the window tint guys got done filling the L/F DCM with water, they checked the fuses. Now, you know as well as I do that the fuse data sheet on a W220 is more confusion than it's worth!!! I'll bet they just started pulling fuses one at a time and stuck #16 back in the wrong place. After all, it's surrounded by empty slots. Make sense?

There is no way for us to tell if your fuses are ok by looking at a picture of the fuse box. You have to unplug the fuse and look at it to see if the fuse is broken.:confused:
Pull fuse #16 (see owners manual for position) as suggested above and look at it.

From the angle in the picture it's hard to tell, but it looks like the 7.5 amp fuse is in slot #19. Try moving it to slot #16 and see what happens

As it turns out, it was the tinting idiot who moved it! I moved fuse #19 to the 16th position and the brakes immediately worked again! But now how do I get rid of the errors? BAS and ESP?

Just for fun:
Turn the Key " ON ",
Turn the steeringwheel ALL the way to the left & hold for 3 seconds,
Turn the steeringwheel ALL the way to the right & hold for 3 seconds,
Centre the steeringwheel & start the engine.
Did the light go out ?
