ABS on when turn on lights
Hello,
I have a 90' 124 230CE with a small problem. When I drive it with the lights off everything works perfect, but if I turn on the lights the ABS warninglight turns on. I have checked the charged voltage witch is 13,5V with the lights turned on, and I have never had any starting problems. Hope anyone can help With kind regards Jakob |

what i think the problem is someone has had the cluster out at some point and mixed up the bulbs for the bulb out indicator and the srs light, those bulbs can be moved and still work, they just light up the wrong icon, i had one where someone switched the check engine light and the bulb check light so the car would pass emmisions inspection, everything was ok until a bulb went out,a brake light bulb failed so then the check engine light would come on everytime the brake was pushed. i think you are having something similar happen

Did u try the ABS break when lights r on? If so and the ABS was functioning then u may have the lamps switched in the instrument cluster.

once the system detects a bulb out, the bulb out light will not turn off unless the key is cycled. if you pull the cluster the wires should have numbers that relate to their position. check all your exterior bulbs with the lights on and see if any are out. |

Thank you for your inputs, I think I have found out whats wrong. The bulbs was put in wrong so that the bulb failure light was put in the ABS, and the washer fluid light was put in the bulb failure light and.... the ABS was put in the washer... so now I only have to find out whats wrong with the bulb failure. I cheked all the lights, but everything is ok.... Once again thank you!

Don't forget to check your licence plate lights and 3rd brake light - often overlooked when looking for the bulb out!
Cheers

I have now checked all bulbs, but I can't find anything wrong. I also checked all the "bulbholders" and they all look clean
