This is done with a latching circuit and either a current sensor or voltage monitor. When the current goes up or the voltage goes down (motor stall - the window is down / up, the circuit unlatches. The ones in my Taurus apparently have some kind of microcontroller that senses if you hold the button down, operate manually, if you touch it and release, go into latching (express mode).

It would be likely that a module from another mid-late 1990's car (even a domestic model) could be adapted.

One touch windows

Most aftermarket window modules from security companies such as DEI, Clifford (now part of DEI), etc will include one touch roll down and one touch up. These modules will also integrate with aftermarket security systems to roll up windows when arming the system and offering vent and roll down via remote. I seem to recall that MB uses a rests at 12V or something besides "rests at ground". I would recommend finding a security specialist with MB experience.
