Go to your local MB dealership for the car's manual, you can get a maintenance manual there also. And you can get your car's auto manual (DIY everything) from the partsshop here. HOpe this helps.

Alot of times in this model when someting goes wrong with the climate control the problem is in the actual push buttons on the dash. Have those checked before you go out and buy a new blower.

My 91 124 has an auxiliary fuse holder for the blower motor, it's a small black box (1"x2") located on the driver side next to the main fuse box. May be you have the same configuration.

You might be able to find an owners manual on EBAY. There are usually ones available. Test you blower motor first. The Mercedes blower motors must be made out of gold because thet are expensive. You may be able to buy a repair manual here at Parts Shop. It should have informatiom on the climate control system.

Parts shop here on this site dose have the 560sel service CD rom (w126). As far as the location of the blower motor, it is under the dash ,center I belive, inside the air box. If you go to http://www.peachparts.com/catalog and punch in 1268200542 under search by part number you can buy the motor by itself without the cages at a good price and there is a picture of it there that if you click on the picture it will give you a bigger image. But like they say make sure thats the problem before you change it. There is also on that car something called the blower regulator that might have something to do with it. and or like thye said the A/c control panel in the dash is a frequent problem on the MB. And yes you could get any or all of the above in this sites Fast lane catalog

Before buying anything, have a MB mech with the right diagnostic tools check the whole a/c system - mine turned out to have a bad pushbutton unit, aux water pump and several other parts. Not a do it yourself job.

Actually the blower is very easy on the 126 chassis. It is above the passengers feet.

You will need to remove the plastic underdash panel and it is mounted into the bottom of the evap housing closer to the outside than the center.

A very common lack of blower problem is caused by the ignition switch. Try starting the car and wiggle the key back toward off. If the blower comes on you are done with diagnostics. If this simple test provides no answer go to the blower and test to see if there is battery voltage and ground on the two wires going to it (easily available without removing blower). If you really want the sure answer disconnect the two wire connector and put one wire to ground and the other to 12v. If the motor is good it WILL run. You don't even need to worry about polarity as the motor will run in reverse direction if wired backwards The test is still valid. Just be sure to wire it properly when done.

I have a 86 420 SEL, and had a similiar problem, there is a metal blade fuse on the fender well on drivers side just behind the anti lock brake components, it is a black plastic 1" by 2" piece with a wire out each end. try this 79 cent fuse before you spend $300. like I did.
If thats not it there is also a component in the same housing as the fan, it has fins on it, it is part of the automatic climate control for the car, if it is bad it could cause the same problem, don't replace it yet "E" mail me at MPAFALCON@aol.COM and I would be happy to part with this new part for you, if it is in deed what you need.

good luck
