w201 instrument cluster
 

MY cluster has some issues both cosmeticly and function wise, if I swap it for a good one from a 2.3 will the tach work with my 2.6 engine? would it be very difficult to swap my tach into the new cluster if needed? Seller says they are the same cluster but I would like an unbiased opinion.

the tachopeter from the 2.6 will not correctly work in the 2.3, they are easy to switch.

Thanks for the quick reply Ray, you have confirmed what I thought, maybe I can combine the parts and make one good cluster. Is there anywhere I can get new odometer parts such as gears? I love this little car but no way would I ever get it fixed up without this forum!

Will the instrument cluster from an 90 300e fit my 1987 190 2.6? I found a nice one and they look the same but I don't know if the will interchange. Anybody know if this will work?
