Holiday Maintenance Tasks: '86 420 SEL

HI, My maintenance plans were interupted by the onset of the crud (me, not the car); as I return to availability, I plan to (1) replace the cam cover gaskets; (2) check chain stretch (i.e. compare the timing marks, etc.); (3) replace the power steeering hoses. I've watched about all the 007 reruns I can take.
Are the replacement gaskets and hoses available all over the Internet good quality, or is there a good reason to buy OEM at the dealer? Do I need something besides the two (left and right) gaskets to complete this?
Most of the gaskets available on the Internet sites list the manufacturer as "Germany".
All advice anyone cares to offer will be appreciated. Regards.

The ones you get here on Fastlane will be fine, and it will support this site. The only suggestion I would make is possibly replacing the cam oiler tube connectors as well depending on mileage and maintenance records. You need two kits, and they are only a few bucks. If yours are loose, it can cost you a valve job.

Chain stretch should be no more than 8 degrees.
