FYI post on W126 wood pricing.
I just replaced the center console wood on a friends 1986 300SDL. The new wood from the dealer is now up to $317.56. It looks simple awsome though.
Anyone know what a wood kit runs? $1k? |
To much:mad: I was missing the passenger corner on the SD and watched a couple e-bay auctions go buy at +$100 for the one piece. But then a forum member came to my rescue:D Ohh Hat, going to try the string thing on the window later this week.

The insane prices of wood pieces of Mercedes-Benzes are just one piece of the massive puzzle of over-priced interior bits on these cars. I nearly purchased a crappy 300SD with a bad engine just for the interior parts. After seeing the car in person and negotiating a price with the seller, I decided to return the next day to pay for the car. When I got there, several wood pieces had disappeared. Seller said a man that walked by offered him some money for them. That rendered the car useless to me so I walked.

Wood is the first thing I snatch up in boneyard cars, provided it's not torn up.
