alon

if you carefully read all of my recent posts on clear corners, you will find i said "i've never heard anyone ***** or complain about OEM clear corners" [quality or fit].

i [politely] STRONGLY disagree with you on this issue.

it is my opinion "off-brand or aftermarket" clear corners are NOT of the same quality as OEM hella or bosch.

if we would take a [fair] poll from only people with them, i believe the results would back up my position.

this is america, we agree to disagree.

if you like non-oem clear corners, it makes no difference to me.

you my have the best pair of non-oem corners made, i know mine [and a LOT of other peoples] were nothing but ***** !

see ya

peter

Well now, this one keeps popping up doesn't it? Mine came from ProCarParts.com for $29.95 and they look as well made as the yellow Bosch they replaced. As a matter of fact, the Bosch yellows were'nt even the same shade of yellow! I saved $75 but I'm not sure what I spent it on! Alon; why did you buy blinkers for a car you didn't have?

I bought them before I got the car!:p I thought they were for my Ford. I had to go out and buy a 124 just so I could use them. Forgive me!!

ebenz, I went ahead and ordered the Bosch all-clears from bekkers (my '95 has the partial-clear ones). The smoked lenses did look great from a distance (better than the plain clears imho), and this was the reason I gave the seller for having so few returned in the past - most people are happy if the car looks good from a distance or as you are passing other cars on the street.

He claimed that they've sold over 200 pair over the last year without complaints and he wanted to know the specifics on my car so that he could 'research the situation'.

I kindly told him that I'm not the only one with these concerns/observations (based on my reading here). I told him about the gaps and bulges in the rubber surround, and that I had to trim excess plastic off the clips to even make them 'fit', even then, they didn't snap in solidy and tight like the factory boschs. Maybe I just got a bad set, as Bosch or Hella could easily do as well (as the Cap'n duly notes), but I'm just not impressed.

I'm afraid he'll find the 'situation' is that they simply are not manufactered to as high a standard. Though with how many there are on either side of this fence, who knows?

Regards,
- Ryan

See there! You should have bought the Taiwan ones like me and Alon. Who could build better German car parts than the Asians??

Capn.. I was waiting on my financing to clear when I bought them, and got them about 2 weeks before I actually took delivery of the car just before having everything finalized. I knew I was getting a 300CE, so I knew I would use them and if not I wopuld have just resold them. I sold the oem orange ones easily on ebay within a few days.

Peter, I agree the Bosch ones look the best. I was merely reporting that I am happy with mine which are not OEM bosch or hella as they look good and fit well and I haven't had any issues like others have had.

WhenI upgrade to the Euro's, which will be bosch or hella only units, I'm going with the matching bosch clears as well.

I am all for OEM, thats why I buy all my parts OEM when I get them, which is why I went with a behr radiator, bosch plugs, OEM hood star, OEM grill insert, OEM rear taillight lenses. I had bought those clears before I even knew there was a difference, and as you can see on my site, they look and fit well. Maybe most were unahppy with their aftermarket ones, but in my case and capn's, we are happy with ours for now...

Yours definately look the best, especially with those euro lights, and when the time comes, you will see the same on my car, only my headlights will be the 500E Euros, because I love the way the Lights look with that chrome on it.

Alon
