high idle 89 420 sel 168,000

the car idles normal when normal but after it warms up idle jumps to 1400 to 1500 and stays there the oil pressure is at 3 at all times.
I also would like to know if anyone knows what the switch next to the front window switch does , it has a little man on it and it moves to the left and right , I'm lost on that one also the little roller with the speaker on it how does that work, I have an aftermarket radio and cd changer, does that roller switch have somthing to do wit the speaker fader or somthing like that ?

thanx 4 da help

roller is speaker fader front-rear; switch with little man is rear window lockout (I think); lets driver stop rear windows from being moved by the local control.
The high idle on my car was returned to normal when I replaced the idle control: a black box located under the carpet in the passenger footwell. Also, vacuum leaks can be a causitive factor: check the vacuum lines in the automatic climate control including damper door motors (2 of mine were completely rotten). Don't forget the rubber seals in the air intake manifold and the seals at each fuel injector. Hope this helps/encourages you. Never give up!
