Why do you need to turn the rotors?

Also, did your mechanic use brake pad paste as recommended? I had a little squeal in my front brakes after I installed the "green stuff" pads from EBC on my wagon. I pulled the pads out, used the brake pad paste as recommended by MBZ, reinstalled the pads, and squeal was gone.

OEM pads are very good. Only drawback in my opinion is the prodigious production of brake dust. If you can live with the dust then OEM is certainly a way to go.

Does Brembo recommend a specific type of pad for use with their rotor, such as metallic or semi-metallic? I've got Axxis metalmaster pads on my wife's 300E and they work fine, don't squeal, and don't make much dust.

Lym, if it was my Benz with new brake pads and rotors that squeaked a little bit, I would tolerate the embarrising noise until the time to replace them.
Do your homework and inspect the pads especially whiether the pads have the goobly goop on them.

The first thing I would try would be removing the pads, apply some Mercedes anti-squeal paste and then reinstall the pads. The part number is 001 989 10 51 . It takes approx one packet of paste per wheel. See our DIY brake pad article for more info.

This may not fix your problem but, it costs very little to give it a try. Brake squeal is caused by the vibration of your brake pads within the caliper when you brake. This vibration gives off the high frequency squeal you hear. Brake pad paste helps to dampen the vibration.

Just wonder how long does the effectiveness of the brake paste lasts?

Initially, my brake squeked frequently, when I brake from a slow speed. After applying the brake pad paste ( cost a bomb in Malaysia US2.65 per paste, if compare to partshop price of US$0.70 ) it worked for about a month or so. Now, the squeking sound is back.

My brake pad is original MB, by Textar.

Any further recomendations?
