Instrument Cluster LED's fading out. 2000 C230

Has anyone had any issues with their LED's fading or going out on their W202 C230 (2000)?
About a year ago I had a couple of LED's fade in and out on my Odometer. Then six months ago it spread to the Trip Odometer. Now just last week it spread to the outside thermometer.
Are the LED's replaceable or does the dash need to be serviced? If so can anyone recommend a company that can fix them?
Thanks
Shawn

They are actually back-lit LCD's. The bulbs are blowing out behind the display, the bulbs are very replaceable, no problem. Happens alot, the odometer/trip display, clock, outside temp, etc.

I guess i should have clarified further. It isn't that the numbers are out, it's individual pixels that fade in/out or are just out all together. Is the back-light still the problem?

Cluster would need to be replaced. Sometimes they'll just be missing when it's cold out, but come back on slowly as the car warms up, someone else was just posting about that yesterday on their 2000 C Class.

Is there someone that can fix them (LED's) or am I SOL and need to replace the entire instrument cluster?

If anyone else knows of a repair shop they can chime right in, I think it requires replacement.

Repaired and works great!

I found a company in Massachusetts that fixed my dash and it works great!

For under $300 including the removal tools from MB, repair & shipping to/from, I can finally read my odometer! This sure beats having to purchase a new dash ($1500), the labor to reprogram the mileage etc.; this company did a great job.

This is also very common with the early to mid 90's Lexus cars. Especially, in the cold weather. It was like a TV warming up before the picture would come on.

That's how mine started. Then it didn't matter what temperature it was. Finally it was down to a few digits and I just couldn't live with that. They just seem to get worse with time.

That's how it happens. An electrician told me it's called electrical fatigue. Don't go to Barrier - MBZ of Bellevue unless you want to pay way too much to fix it. I think they hold the world record for being the most expensive place to shop.
