coil size needed pls!
Hey Guys,
In Canada most of the shops that sell coils for my 1977 w123 300d are either out of stock or not available, In order for me not to get to raked over by Canada customs. I would like to get them made up at the spring shop near by. That requires tho the measurements of my coils, front and back. Please can somebody post the size and dimensions of the coils front and back. I am seriously sagging here and want to fixer up. I guess what I would need is length, diameter of coil and diameter of the material the coil is made of.............I have never had coils made up before, but they do it all the time. So help please, Thanks Darryl |

Mercedes are probably a different story. The fact the spring shop doesn't know might be a clue. |
FYI Canada Customs is VERY reasonable with duties on car parts. ;)
Besides, how would you determine the correct springrate to get an M-B ride ? |

which end are you sagging? have you tried new shocks? new gas filled ones often will bring it up.

I am not against ordering from the US. But it can be pain. The springrate I cannot say if it could be determined. if it was a progressive coil. then it would be impossible, There is a place in Vancouver who makes coils, they said they have the specs on file. I bet the shocks could use a update as well. My coils tho are shot. they sag a lot. All the tires angle in at the upper end of the tire. / \ and sit low___ 30 yrs old, should be changed. Thanks for the tips, I am hoping to get these local first. But can you guys suggest an alternative if I cannot. I know this site sells. But what other places are reputable. Or best price. Unfortunately I am working on a tight budget. My other addiction is Diesel Land Cruisers..............they drain me a lot :) |
