I am new to the car and am still fiddling around it for day to day maintenance.

Can members tell me where and exactly how to remove a/c filters as well as carbon filters if they are fixed separately. Thanks.

I just looked on my dad's S420, and it seems to be the same place in my car. Under the front passenger dash-board. I'm sure it would be the same as your car. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, if your car is a 92, wouldn't it be a 300SE...?

You have two types of these filters, one is called Micro filter with activated charcol and the other is without activated charcol, with is 1408350147 and without is 1408350047 the car only takes one or the other, After seeing the price differnce most pepole go with the ones without charcol activated at http://www.peachparts.com/catalog

A/C Filter W-140

Thanks for the info I will look up the parts for replacement.

As for the model the local agent here brought the w-140 '92
300SEL model 'Long Wheel base'but have the car full face lifted to look '97 model. Quite a looker and will last for quite a while before it gets long in the tooth.

Oh yeah, sorry about that. I just don't think I've ever seen a 300 or 400 seL (W-140, 92-94). Only SE...'s weird.
