Exclamation 95 S320 won't start after vacuum pump replacement

Hi everyone,

I just replaced the central locking vacuum pump with a Bosch unit and it works great! Unlocks the trunk, and all of the doors. But...now the car won't start. It is definitely the anti-theft system, but I have no clue how to reset it...Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Andrew

PS - I tried pulling out the fuses, I also unhooked the battery for 15 minutes - didn't work!

Exclamation

the pump sends ground signal to the K38 starter lock-out relay.

On the locking pump AT electrical connector #2, pin #1 the brown/grey wire MUST make a ground!

Thanks!

Thanks MB DOC

I am going to clean all of the connections with an electrical connector cleaner when I get home tonight.

I will also double-check that connector.

I will let you know if it worked! Thanks for the response.

Fixed!

MB DOC,

I spliced (done with proper electrical connectors, of course) into that wire and added a new ground wire connected to the ground screw near the pump - worked like a charm.

Thanks for your assistance!
