Hello All,

I have a 1987 260e (w124) that someone has cut holes in the lower door panels behind the pockets and the speakers ripped the panel, the pockets have also broke away from the door, can i replace these lower panels with new ones, mine are grey in color, and if so does anyone no the dealer part number for the factory ones with no speakers, also could I use the lower pockets from a later model that had factory speakers there?

Go to the partsshop section and submit a request form. Fitz will look up the part# and price and e-mail you back.

its not too complicated, but hard to explain. ill try though.
well,,, there is a 10mm. bolt in the door closing handle.
remove the black plastic face around the door handle with a flathead screwdriver. ( be careful not to tear anything!)
remove the bolt. next, remove the screws on the plate that goes around the assembally that latches the door.
then unscrew the door locking knob. lastly, there are two long screws under the armrest unscrew these and carefully pull up on the door. its fiberboard ya know! i hope this helps. best if you get a manual. i figured this out by myself, so, its ont too hard if i can do it.
good luck!

richard, if i were you i would have the dealer
replace it. i remember taking out my door panel
which was easy but putting it back is a challenge
since you have to clip it back to the handle bar.
can not recall exactly how but i know i broke
the clip of those lower pocket. it is still
broken, so i get reminded everytime i look at it.
