Exterior door handle coming loose
 

The exterior passenger door handle on my '84 300TD is coming loose. It still opens the door with no trouble, but the front edge of it comes in and out of the door nearly an inch with no resistance. It started doing this abruptly several days ago, with no warning or previous issues. It hasn't gotten worse since it started.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you remove the inner door panel you will probably see what is wrong.
