500SE Uk Spec 1985 (built 84) fuel injection removal
 

I have recently aquired a 1985 500SE uk spec. It ceased starting on inspection the clip which holds the fuel injection to the inlet manifold has failed, infact it is in two parts.

I cannot seperate these parts. Could anyone let me know how to seperate this without causing damage. the underside of the fuel injection systems appears to be built of a rubberized compound! Can anyone confirm this ?

Any help is greatly appreciated and diagrams would be appreciated.
