Am I crazy to buy an '01 SLK320 with 68K miles?

Got a great price on an '01 SLK320. Very good condition. Below wholesale in all the books! But it has 68K miles on it.

Is this simply too many miles? Should I move along, despite the good price?

BTW: I didn't get much response in the SLK forum, so I thought I'd try here...

Well, the mileage is about average for the years.
Can you get any service history documentation on it?
May be worthwhile to have an M-B mechanic check it out, if you're serious abut the purchase.
Btw., mileage has never stopped me from purchasing a vehicle.
Price, condition & service records mean a lot more to me. ;)

I've seen the service records. Fully serviced, no major issues.
I've seen the carfax -- it's OK.
The car was a trade-in at the local Mercedes dealer.
Tempting, very tempting...

What? 3 Mercedes ? You ARE crazy !! :D
If you can swing it, buy it.
No point denying yourself anything in life. ;)

If it has been properly serviced the mileage is nothing to worry about. It's not even broken in until it hits 100,000 or so. These cars are good for 300,000 easy if properly maintained.

Enjoy,

I currently own 3 Benzes. Two I drive, one (the C320) I have given to my oldest daughter to drive while she is in college.

Not that expensive to maintain and lots of fun to own and drive. :D

Wanna buy a nice '79 450SL? It's going to be hard to part with this car, but the garage and driveway are starting to complain...

Yep. But remember the following my friend:

1. No one can ever own too many Mercedes, just like you can't ever be too thin or too rich.

2. Owning multiple Benzes is not a sign of mental disease, it is a "passion." and fnally...

3. Owning a Benz (or Benzes) is what separates us from the monkees. :D

Carry on....BTW I like your signature line.
