96 C280 Key resync. questions...
 

My new flip key from the dealership doesn't want to synchronize with my 96C280 sport, 155K miles. It starts the car and manually locks fine.

I've aimed the transmitter at the inside of the rearview mirror, pressed the trasmit button twice briefly and inserted to steering lock turning to postion 2 within 10 seconds, ( thanks stevebfl and carson356), and the darned thing will not lock, unlock or activate the red or green LEDs on mirror like the "lost" unit did.
When I use the new key to manually lock, the LED on the lock/unlock toggle switch on dash blinks and the battery in the unit tests good. This car does have LOjack and the PO supplied a card with an "unlock" phone # to call when I lock the keys inside.
Any Ideas ??? Thanks.
