16v no spark!
Well my 16v just finished having the gearbox reconditioned.
It was put back in and driven out of the workshop fine. Now, though, it won't start - there is no spark. This may or may not be related to the gearbox work. I see a surprisingly small number of no spark issues on 16v's. Russell

Check the connections to the ckp sensor. It will have been disturbed during the gaerbox work and will cause you no spark. Also check for an injection pulse if you have one it will prove the ckp sensor is ok, if you dont it will only agree with what I have speculated.

OK a bit of a search revealed CKP sensor (?) is the crank angle position sensor (never heard it called CKP before).
I am informed the Crank position sensor is on the front of the engine (on the pulley?) not the rear, so would not be disturbed by the gearbox. Could this be some other sensor? Where should I be looking for the CKP sensor? My mechanic had a poke around and couldn't see anything that would be disturbed by the gearbox. Anyway, I have tested CKP sensor's resistance and it's correct, but it could just be wrongly located. The CKP sensor does sounds like it could be/should be the culprit! Also, How would I check for "injection pulse" as you describe? Thanks, Russell (EDITed once I worked out what the CKP sensor was)
