your car should look level like mine- Well minr does have 56k miles so still fairly new but still, your car looks abnormally low.

Yeah, he is very fortunate to have such a low mileage 87' 420SEL.

That is a sweet car 2 560 2. MIne has 114K on it. I shot a little 134 in it tonight and got the ACC working. Dude, I'm so torqued!!! Surely there is a leak in it somewhere which I can find later this week. Thought I would have to try to trace down one of the 8000 sensors or electrical connectors to get it working.

And with good reasons !

There is a stunning 86'-91' LWB W126 sedan (ice blue) at a local car lot for sale. They are asking $5995. Not sure of the exact year, or if it is a 300, 420 or a 560, but it is beautiful and looks like new from the boulevard. I know that if I stop to look at it, I will buy it, so I just drive on past, glaring at it and wish mine was that shiny, but for $5995, I can get one heck of a paint job for my 85' !!

two kinds of sickness

i used to have this sickness that whenever i saw a car sitting beside someone's house obviously not in service where i would think.."i could get that running , i bet...no problem"..... and then i would start thinking about "saving" the poor little car.

it still strikes now and then but i am getting better.

then there is the other type, (i see you have it) where you see one with a good color and shiny paint and i (you) say "wow! look at that beauty... and only $5,995, i could buy that and sell my (POS which i know all the little things that arent perfect on) and have a really nice ride", so then you buy it and cant sell yours and so forth til you have a dozen really almost very nice benzes around in various stages of being saved or being your mental salvation.

so every so often you force yourself into full court press flock reduction, which i have been in for the last six months, in which i have sold two benzes, a spare suburban and my late dad's volvo, and i need to keep it up and sell another one or two.

never seem to be able to own just one of anything, i once had four early fifties caddys... talk about taking up space!

Two560Two you really should bring that 420 to one of our GTG's. I'd like to see it in person. Wasn't it for sale a little while back for $11kish?

I changed the rear spring pads to the thickest size and brought mine up considerably, probably a full inch on the rear, maybe a bit more.. Now I have 27" front and rear. The rear actually looks higher as the car goes down the road, which is appealing to me, and the negative camber on the rear went away too.
Spring pads are cheap, but you gotta do all the same work involved with changing the springs.

running the rear high

will affect the castor on the front, so it will be a little less stable in a straight line on the highway.

brian solves this by running a heavy tool box in his.

and a little neg camber say 1 degree or so isnt a problem. positive camber will prob wear the outside of the tires. a little neg will make for more secure cornering.

HATTERAS- I did put the car up for sale a couple of months ago but will just keep it. I put it up for sale because I had some $$ problems but that is all solved now so I can keep my toys! Let me know when there will be a g2g anytime soon. I will surely be happy to get to know you and other memebers

Which springs?

Should I get the OE springs or the HD springs? Is there a difference in manufacturers to look for? Are the ones sold on this site OK? There is a 2" difference from front to back. I plan on putting in new 19mm pads as well.
