OEM Rear Brake Disc
Title says it all...
What is it for the w124 e320 1995 edition! Are the "Balo" ones any good? |
Balo, ATE, Zimmermann are all very good brake discs.
Go with whatever suits your fancy. Btw., I buy mine at my local M-B dealer, good pricing. ;) |
I think the Balo and Zimmerman are the best of the bunch. The ATE disks are ok.
|
Go to the dealer and buy a set! They are usually cheap from them. I have been told ATE is OE for the discs and Textar is OE for the pads.
|
I don't think either is OE. I believe Mercedes casts their own disks and the OEM disks you get at the dealer are actually cast by Mercedes. I think ATE, Zimmerman, and Balo are all aftermarket, with Balo and Zimmerman being close to OEM quality.

I think you called it Ali. While ATe supplies many parts for MB I doubt the discs are one of them, mostly hydraulics.
Same goes for pads. Each company makes pads from numerous compositions Pagid are one of the brands that MB uses so are Jurid and Textar, but I seriously doubt that any that are sold without the MB star on them are the actual composition used by MB. WE have good luck with Pagid, but never use anything but OE with a star for the MLs. We currently are using a lot of Brembo discs. |
OEM rear brake discs
Mercedes does indeed make their own brake discs. The OE supplier for brake pads is Pagid not Textar.
|
Now, most brake parts and suspension parts are made by Lucas (TRW) for Mercedes.
