603 motor - Thermostat Housing Torque?

Can anyone tell me how much torque those bolts require? I assume not too much (5-7ft-lbs) but to assume makes and ass out of u and me. ;)

Thanks!

I didn't torque mine I just snugged the bolts. No leaks going on year two.

Sounds fine to me. Pointed side in or out? I haven't removed it yet so it could be backwards for all I know currently...

Maybe it can fit only one way. :D

Well if the temp stays where it should does it matter?:D

I probably wasted money changing mine it still was working fine, seemed original to.:o Gotta love the po he didn't like actually fixing or replacing things. He was a turn the key and turn the radio up type.

are you

talking about your 617 motor?

if so the disc goes toward the car, the pointy end toward the rad.

when installing them put your hand up against the hub of the ratchet and dont use all your strength even then. and put on a dab of antiseaze on each thread.

and if you are feeling cautious test the new stat before installing with the ancient boiling pan of water ritual.

This is for the SDL thermostat, the first one I put in was bad.
