Replaced Trans and Kickdown cable. Question about vacuum
 

I recently replaced the trams on my wife's 95 e320 wagon. In the processes, I replaced the kickdown cable (don't ask). The new updated cable had different vacuum connections that the old on. Does anyone know which should be connected to the green line ? The top spot (like the old one) or the bottom spot ? Shift points has been a bit sporadic. I also need to know how to set the adjustment. The M104 has a bit of a different mechanism on the throttle than my 126 SD. Any insight is appreciated. I attached a thumb of the new cable.

Connect the vac. line to the top port and get a rubber plug and cap the lower port. As far as adjustment, your really supposed to take the measurement from the old cable and set the new cable before install. However, in changing the cables I have never had to make an adjustment to a new cable.

Shift delay vacuum actuator is sold. Your vacuum line should be colored
coded, the green line from the up shift delay switch over valve is
connect to the green vacuum actuator port.

Models which have a mode switch have a pink or red vacuum line
From the transmission mode switch relay, connected to
the red vacuum actuator port.

The white knob on the green actuator is the shift delay adjustment;
Transfer that measurement to the new actuator, if it needs adjustment
cw = lower delay shifts ccw = higher delayed shifts. Note, this is not the
Bowden cable adjustment, it’s the catalytic cold up shift delay strategy adjustment


As said, plug the open ports that are not used, Plug # 000 987 1145
Cap # 140 997 00 20

Thank you both for the info. I was looking for the upshift adjustment. I'll play with it next weekend (weather permitting).
