1995 e320 AC pressure

1995 e320 AC pressure

I know its supposed to be filled to some 2.XX pounds, but what would be the PSI of that. I've got one of those wal-mart recharge kits with a psi gauge.

Thanks,

Jay

Look at the pressure curves in the climate control diagnostic book. These will give you a good approximation to the right refridgerant level. To do the job, you'll need to be able to measure the low and high side pressures, several temperatures and the relative humitidy in the cabin.

There is not one right answer, unless you include enough information.

It is best to purchase the correct tools when working on an A/C system. This includes a vent thermometer and R134 or R12 manifold guages (depending on the year of your car) to verify the hi/low side pressures.

On the 1995 model, the w124 was equipped with R134a refridgerant. Gauges are relatively cheap starting around $40 or $50 for a cheap set.

Good luck!

Matt and skiier are correct, there's no simple way to determine if you have proper charge.

One good starting point is to take the static pressure with the car shut off. You should have roughly 40 psi.

Are you having problems with your a/c?
