Dumb Q of the day: Air box hoses
 

Bought the car used, and this is my first car.

It looks as if a couple of hoses are missing (among other problems) from the airbox/ air filter housing. The car is a w126 (see sig.) It's missing the hoses that come from the smaller filter (which looks rather beaten, synged/burnt) Where do they go and what do they do?
