Being a fairly new MB owner I have a couple of quick questions. Is three (3) hours labor typical for R&R of a front flex disc on my 88 300TE? What about 6 hours to R&R valve seals and gaskets(done @ 130k mi)?
I am not yet familiar enough with MBs to know if my independent has the proper experience. This vehicle continues to impress me, 13 years old and solid as a tank. Thanks in adnvance, this site continues to be an excellent information source. Ed 88 300TE 143,000 |

MB labor guide gives 3.4 for the V/G oil seals and 1.2 for the front flex disc only. Very few shops actually use those times as they are considered "warrantee" time and are based upon new vehicles. Our shop usually charges 4 hours and 2 hours respectively.

I had an independent MB shop charge one hour for the front disc along with some other work. Should not be more than two hours for this job solo. Ed
