W126 Accumulators, level control, foam in oil

Very frustrated. Replaced accumulators a few weeks ago. Ride improved for three days and then went back to bumps and thumps. There is no rear suspension. I flushed the oil when I did the accumulators.

Today I cracked the bleeder screw on the level controler. Oil is full of foam.

At my wits end with this thing. I loaded the truck with 150 kg like the manual asks in an attemtp to get the level control lever to the fill position. Only after bouncing on the bumper, I am 255 lbs, did the system respond with a little rise. The right side wheel arch is 25.5 inches from floor, the left side 24.5. Tire pressure the same in both rear tires.

Any help?

I had a weid noise which turned out to be coming from the hydropnematic shocks on my 92 300 TE. I bleed system but apparently not properly since I could not get it to work right.

The cure was to have someone manually fill and dump the fluid from the control valve for the self leveling rear suspension with a couple of us sitting on the rear of the wagon with the tailgate open.

Maybe give that a try.

Still Frustrated

I have bleed the control valve. Today I opened the lines at the accumulators and bleed them. Right accumulator did not have any oil in it. Disconnected and blew out steel supply line to right accumulator. Got oil flowing by pushing up on the control valve lever.

Rides like s..t. There is no rear suspension at all. Wanted to bleed the top of the struts but cannot figure out how to get the rear seat out. Maint manual only refers to standard seat. My 560 has heated and movable seats.

One more time

I am still having the same problem on my 87 560SEL. Would appreciate any information. Should I replace the controller? Should I replace the struts? Either way expensive.
