Italian Tune-up GASSER?

Do gassers require the "Italian Tune-up" like the diesels? Can Italian tune-ups be done to gassers and if not, then what is the equivalent of an Italian Tune-up for a gasser, i.e 1995 E320?
Thanks

yes..even though gassers tend to need it far less often unless driven by old ladies around town or ex police vehicles spent idling for long periods.

Modern emission contolled engines that maintain stoichometric mixuture don't need it as often as carbureted and pre-emission engines that tended to run rich most of the time, but it's still not a bad idea to do an Italian tuneup when conditions are appropriate.

Besides, it's FUN!

A popular method is the "'Techron' tune up".
Drive it down to the reserve light (2.x gallons).
Add 1 or 2 bottlec of Chevron Tecron FI cleaner.
Then drive it Hard (rpm's up between 3500-4500 [you can achieve this effect at lower speeds by selecting a lower gear]) for 20miles or so and fill er up again.

But be carefull. Last time I went out for an Italian tune up I sprung a rad hose leak (not related) and, while watching my low coolant light come on simultaneously got a speeding ticket for a lousey 52 in a 40mph zone.

Its a blast, more so if done in a carb Ferrari or Lambo.:D

Although an M120 will make some sweet sounds just watch the speed...
