91 300E Transmission problem

If I try to begin moving the car it revs and doesn't move until higher revs are achieved, it then begins to move slowly which it should have done at a lower rpm... once it is moving it goes through the rest of the gears fine. If anyone has any information about this or has experienced anything similar to this any help would be much appreciated.

In a nut shell, It's time for a trans. One thing you can do is pull the pan and check to make sure the filter isn't sucked up into the valve body. A broken band my also be the culprit. If you find a pin in the pan thats about 1 1/4 inches long the band may be broken or the foward drive servo may be broken.

With any transmission drivability problem, always check the level and condition of the transmission fluid first.

Your 1991 car should have the up dated B2 piston; the “T” on it may be worn causing the band to slip. I would remove the transmission pan and check for any excessive debris in the filer and pan, if minimal/ normal wear, remove and check the B2 piston and seal for any problems. The transmission will slip when moving of from a stop with a problem in the B2
