Thumbs up Euros for W126, do wipers have washers too?

I have some Bosch Euros on the SDL with the correct wiper motors, just no arms yet. I ordered the wrong wiper arms it appears a while back as there is no connection for the wiper washer.

But I'm curious if they do infact have a washer insert? Or is that only for the US DOT wipers and the Euros are just a wipe only.

Euros have washers too, the outlets are built into the wiper arm.

The hoses come out of the valance next to the wiper arm spline.

Okay excellent, I have the correct trim panels then too off the 500SEL. Now when I order those wipers, do they have the outlet built into them or is there another part number I'll need?

Don'y see why the later version wouldn't work! It's just a hose from the outlet in the valance to the nozzle on the wiper arm, may need to change the outlet to a nipple on the valence - but I don't imagine that would be a major PITA.

Could be wrong though!

BTW both 1st and 2nd gen 126s over here (which were Euro design) had the same headlight wipers, I've not seen squirter nozzles on the valence.

There is no such thing as a headlight wiper.

There are, instead, two types of headlight washer.

1. High-pressure water jet.

2. Low pressure water jet combined with a wiper.

Either only comes on with combination of headlights on and windshield being washed. Would seem pretty silly to only have wiping at same time windshield is being washed.

Well how about some part numbers then...

You want the later wiper arms. They look better and are correct for a post 85 W126.

Find a euro 1986-91 W126 and get the arms of it.

Not all euro's had the headlight wipers... only some had that option. Most w126's in Europe I've seen don't have that option.

Finding a Euro 1986-1991 w126, yet alone a parts car, is difficult. Your best bet is to purchase new. Last year I had a set for sale used, that I found here in Europe... but now don't have it.

Well if new ones are not insanly priced then it makes sense. Could I sweet talk my local dealer into ordering them for me? Any idea on cost? I'd figure a couple hundred bucks for the arms and lower panals. I'd imagin you could probably either use the US motors.

Anyone have a list of part numbers for the arms, panals, and everything?

I have every part and installed sans the correct arms. Found that Euro 500 by sheer luck.

From what I remember, the cost was around $50-60 per arm.

Euro Lamps/Washers

I have the correct wipers on my car and the jets are on the bumpers. Does anyone know what controls the headlight washer/wiper setup on the early 126's? When I first got my car they were wiping obsessively so I pulled the plug on them.

They should only activate when you use the windscreen washer with the lights on.
